Graphic designer and illustrator Melissa Maloney tells us a bit more about life after Potch and her plans for the future.
What is your day job or do you illustrate full-time?
I am currently a Graphic designer at Fishgate Advertising (working as a graphic designer for almost 2 years now). I illustrate in my free time and love doing quirky, fun and colourful illustrations. I always keep my sketchbook at hand!
What is your background?
I studied Graphic Design in Potchefstroom (North West University) and there after travelled overseas for a year. I’m originally from Johannesburg and moved to Cape Town about 2 years ago. Loving every moment!
Any plans for future projects/exhibitions?
I would like to one day do projects where I focus on illustrations for children’s books and hopefully own a home-ware label/brand where I can apply my illustrations to pillows, bedding, cutlery, pottery etc.
