Orda is a contemporary artist who obtained a B.Tech in fine arts in 1997. In 2005 she received a UNESCO bursary to participate in an artists residency programme in Colombia, where she became involved with the street art scene. She’s explored and interpreted the concept of street art and the result is a body of work that is energetic and edgy, but also very ‘hangable’. She now lives in Cape Town. (the last two pieces are from her Flickr page)
Check out her latest exhibition titled ‘Moniker’ which features portraits of well-known street artists. She uses traditional aerosol sprays to create works that redefine identities as a mark of contemporary life.
The exhibition is on at Worldart Gallery, 54 Church Street, Cape Town. www.worldart.co.za from 7 – 28 May.
So skip the Master Chef Australia omnibus this weekend and pop in!
